The Florentine theoretical and practical course in endodontic microsurgery led by Dr. Arnaldo Castellucci has long been regarded as one of the most respected and sought-after educational formats in the field.

At Castellucci Prague 2026, we bring this unique course from the intimate setting of the Florence training center into a large-scale congress format – without any compromise in quality or intensity.

The course is designed as a full-day, highly practical hands-on (with the theoretical background covered during the first day of the congress), during which participants will perform a complete microsurgical procedure from A to Z, following exactly the protocol Dr. Castellucci uses in his daily clinical practice.

How the hands-on works in practice

Each participant works individually under an operating microscope on real human teeth, mounted in specially designed anatomical models. These models realistically simulate clinical conditions, including soft tissues, bony structures, and periapical lesions.

Throughout the day, participants will practically perform:

  • Correct indication of the surgical approach and decision-making between nonsurgical retreatment and surgical intervention
  • Flap design and execution, incision, and atraumatic soft tissue elevation
  • Access to the root apex, preparation of the bony crypt, and apical resection
  • Ultrasonic root-end preparation and retrograde filling with biocompatible materials
  • Precise flap repositioning and suturing, with emphasis on healing by primary intention
  • Principles of postoperative care aimed at minimizing pain, swelling, and patient discomfort

The course is structured so that participants do not merely observe the procedure, but truly understand the rationale behind each step and are able to safely reproduce the entire workflow in their own clinical practice.
